Leskanic was signed by the Red Sox on June 22, four days after he was released by the Kansas City Royals. He pitched a 1-2-3 tenth inning against Oakland on July 8. When the Sox rallied in the bottom of the inning, he picked up the win. Curtis had a string of ten straight scoreless outings from August 20 to September 14, as the Red Sox made their late season charge toward the playoffs. He walked one and struck out one in a scoreless ninth inning on October 2, earning the save. Leskanic was on the roster for all three playoff rounds, but he didn't get into any games in the Division Series or World Series. In the ALCS, he pitched a scoreless inning in Game 1 when Curt Schilling got knocked out early. In Game 4, he came on in the eleventh, getting Bernie Williams to fly out to end the inning. He stayed in to pitch a scoreless twelfth, and picked up the win when David Ortiz homered in the bottom of the inning.
